Comfort zone: a psychological state in which a person feels familiar, at ease and in control.
There can be no comfort zones on the path towards purpose because it implies that one is in control of their own life. Human beings are inherently dependent on God, which means we are never the captains of our own journey. So if we are never in control, how do we often become victims of countless comfort zones?
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?” (Isaiah 43:19 NLT). God is all about the new, and we are created in His likeness, which necessitates us being fully committed to new things as well. It’s unfair to expect new blessings from God, but offer old sacrifices.
Life is screaming out for something different. We must not yield to the cliché, “I’m just waiting on God!” In this new season, we have to challenge ourselves to break from the box of familiarity. We have to search daily for something fresh to offer Him. A new blessing will always require a new sacrifice. Believe that if you do something different, He is faithful enough to do the same!
